Teachers

Our teachers are hand picked from across the country. They all teach from a Christian worldview and have proven subject matter expertise in their particular courses.


 

Mr. paul hicok - history/High school principal

Mr. Hicok received his Masters in Christian Apologetics from Biola University and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California at Davis. He has been in Christian education for over 18 years, working in Christian schools as both an administrator (Vice Principal) and a teacher. He holds a Professional Lifetime Certification in Christian Apologetics and Social Science from the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).  His primary passion is to teach students, families and educators to embrace and fully live out the Christian Worldview in their community and culture. He specializes in teaching courses in Christian Worldview and History. He has also taught courses in Government & Politics, Economics, and Philosophy.

mrs. alex erb - science

Mrs. Erb holds a B.A. in Political Science from Biola University.  She has been in Christian education for the past 10 years, teaching K-12 classes in STEM and Technology at two private Christian schools in Silicon Valley and Denver, CO.  She was brought on to start a new STEM program at her most recent school where she sourced the curriculum and created the lesson plans coordinating across disciplines of science and math to teach students how to apply fundamentals in both to the real world through projects and experiments.  She is highly proficient in the use of technology as she completed courses in Digital Media and Technology from Stanford University and Fresno Pacific respectively.  She looks forward to teaching students how Science points to the truths of the Bible and incorporating her STEM skills to allow students to not only learn Science concepts but be able to understand how they apply.

mrs. Krista Mcgee - english

Mrs. McGee holds a B.A. in English from the University of South Florida. She has been in Christian education for 15 years, teaching 7-12th grade English and Drama classes (including AP English classes) at several private Christian schools.  She holds a certification in teaching from ASCI.  She is an extremely accomplished author having written nine young adult Christian fiction novels that were published by HarperCollins and Amaris Media. In addition to teaching and writing, she has graded thousands of AP English Literature and Composition essays for the Educational Testing Service.  She understands that God has given everyone unique abilities and looks forward to helping students develop those gifts to their fullest potential.

Mrs. Debbie Romero - math

Mrs. Romero received her Masters in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma and a B.S. degree in Bible and Secondary Education in Mathematics from Calvary University.  She has been in Christian education for over 25 years, working in private Christian schools as a mathematics teacher (7-12th grade), private tutor, and as an administrator as a Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Accreditation. She holds a Professional Lifetime Certification in Secondary Education - Mathematics and Bible from the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).  She looks forward to exploring how we see God's fingerprint in His Creation through the scope of mathematics with her students.

Dr. david mcgee - bible

Dr. McGee earned a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Master of Theology (Th.M.) from Dallas Theological Seminary, and B.S. in Accounting from the State University of New York - College at Old Westbury. He holds a Professional Lifetime Certification in Bible and Mathematics from the Association of Christian Schools (ACSI). He has been in Christian education for almost 20 years, teaching Bible and Math at several private Christian schools, and teaching Bible, Theology, and Apologetics at several Christian universities.


Ms. Lisa Grimo - 6th/7th grade

Ms. Grimo earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from Excelsior College in 2008 and a master’s degree in English education from Liberty University in 2017. She holds a Professional level teaching certificate from ACSI in Secondary Language Arts and Music, with endorsements in Social Science and Bible. Ms. Grimo has taught middle school and high school English since 2008 and had opportunity to teach math, history, science, psychology, Bible, and music courses during that time as well. Since 2019, she has been an adjunct professor at a Christian college, teaching online composition and humanities courses. Ms. Grimo believes that being a lifelong learner of “the Creator and His creation” is essential to living as Christ wants us to live, and she endeavors to pass on her passion for knowledge of the Truth to her students.


Mrs. Jennifer Collins - science, math and history

Mrs. Collins holds a B.S. in Science and a Masters in Education from University of Georgia.  She has worked in the public school system for 10 years, and 15 years in Christian education teaching 6-12th grade classes in Science and Technology.  In addition to her teaching, she has created online curricula for multiple educational companies and a private Christian school.  She started an online educational company that provides online classes in science and history to homeschooling families as well as tutoring and curriculum creation across all the sciences.   She has extensive experience teaching and running labs online and looks forward to connecting with her students through the use of technology.

mr. scott saiers - head of school

Mr. Saiers graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Economics. He scored a perfect 800 on his Math SATs and spent the past 20 years in a successful career on Wall Street where applied math (statistics, probability, derivatives etc) was integral to his daily work.  He became a Managing Director at the age of 29 at UBS running the Convertible Bond trading desk.  Subsequent to UBS, he spent three years as a senior executive at a derivative focused hedge fund.  He looks forward to showing how Math can be used in everyday life and how the order of numbers points to the Creator.

Ms. rebeka mellado - guidance counselor

Ms. Mellado received her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Bethel Seminary with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from San Diego Christian College. She is bilingual and has been involved in education and family therapy for the past 8 years. She has taught AP Spanish Literature with a pass rate of 100%. She looks forward to bringing her knowledge of Christ to help guide students as they navigate school.
