Does this substitute out the need for parent involvement?

No it does not.  Whether you are using our academy as an enhancement of your homeschool or as a public or private school alternative, parents need to be involved.  We believe at the center of online schooling is the student’s family and therefore our academy should be thought of as a partner in the education process, not a replacement for parental involvement. And it is the parent’s responsibility to make sure they are following their state and local homeschooling laws as each state has their own requirements for online schooling.

Do the students get to interact live with their teacher?

Yes. The students can interact with the teacher and other students during the live classes. We use Zoom meetings for our live classes.

Do I have to watch the classes live?

For middle school classes, students are highly encouraged to join but do not have to attend the classes live. All of our classes are recorded and available on demand, so they can be watched anytime. For high school classes, students do have to join the live classes and attendance will be taken.

how does grading of the classes work?

All of the assignments, quizzes and tests will be graded by us and results can be seen within Ignitia so you can follow real time how your child’s doing. The overall grade for the course will be a combination of the three with weightings varying slightly depending on the subject. Assignment due date, upcoming quiz and test dates are also visible online so you can see how your child is progressing through the coursework.

Is there a refund policy?

Yes. If you are not satisfied with our service you can cancel up to 14 days after the school year starts for a full refund (minus an administrative fee).

What technology do i need?

Each student should have access to a PC or laptop with reliable internet access for the live classes. Having a webcam is also a must so students can actively participate in the classes. Our online curriculum can be accessed through common internet browsers.

Do you offer dual enrollment?

Yes. We have partnered with the College at Southeastern (College at Southeastern) to be able to offer classes that are taught by our teachers and students have the oppotunity to get both high school credits as well as credits from the College in these concurrent classes.

What is your Statement of Faith?

We are Bible based, non-denominational:

1. We believe in one God who eternally exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
2. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God.
3. We believe that man was created in God's image, but is separated from God by sin.
4. We believe in the incarnation and virgin birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, that He is the only begotten Son of God.
5. We believe Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins, was buried, and rose from the dead.
6. We believe that we are redeemed by grace through faith in Jesus’s atoning death on the cross and that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
7. We believe salvation is not by good works but is by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
8. We believe Jesus ascended into heaven and will return again.
9. We believe that the gift of eternal life is available to all, that those who receive Christ by faith are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.
